Walt Disney World is now offering an autonomous way to carry your equipment around the golf course – robo caddies!
By Niamh Larkin
The hands-free autonomous caddie comes equipped with an on-board GPS yardage system, a cooler, a sand bottle, a USB port, cup holder and a Divot repair kit, as well as space to carry your golf bag.
The caddie also includes a touchscreen tablet that aids golfers in precise distance-to-pin yardage.
The Tempo Walk Robo Caddies are waterproof and run using a wireless transmitter that is worn on the lower back. When turned on, the caddy will follow you at a distance of 4 feet. The caddy will stop moving when you do, or when the transmitter is turned off.
The robo caddie is available to rent for $10 plus tax, per player, per 9-hole round. Traditional pull carts are also available to rent at $7 plus tax, per player, per 9-hole round.
Guests can reserve a caddie ahead of time by calling Disney’s Oak Trail Golf Course at (407) 939-4653 when booking their next tee time.
While Walt Disney World theme parks remain closed until July 11, 2020, though resort golf and footgolf operations are still operating at normal hours. Guests are required to wear face coverings in public areas, however they are not required while out on the course exercising.
Guests will also encounter a temperature screening checkpoint upon their arrival to the golf course.
