With today being Disneyland’s 65th anniversary, it’s a bittersweet day for many, as the park is still closed with no announced reopening date. However, a few former skippers of the Mike Fink Keel Boats are making magic happen at home to celebrate.

The Mike Fink Keel Boats were small boats that traveled through the Rivers of America at Disneyland park, and were based on two episodes of the “Davy Crockett” miniseries that aired on the “Disneyland” TV show in 1955.
The ride was named after Mike Fink, the “King of the River” who lost the keel boat race. The attraction eventually closed in 1997.
To offer fans of the classic attraction a bit of magic while Disneyland is closed, a group of former skippers took it upon themselves to “refloat” the attraction via an 11-minute tour right in their own backyards.
