Which Star Wars characters are most popular to cosplay?

Ever since “Star Wars” (later renamed “Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope”) first hit theaters in 1977, fans dressed up like their favorite characters, including Luke, Princess Leia, Han Solo, and Darth Vader, but did you ever wonder which Star Wars characters are cosplayed the most?

Online card game site SolitaireBliss wondered too, so they conducted a study to analyze U.S. Google searches of 209 Star Wars characters along with the terms “cosplay,” “costume,” “clothes,” and “outfit” to determine which Star Wars characters are most popular to cosplay.

Characters whose appearance changes over the saga – like Anakin Skywalker, who later became Darth Vader – were considered separate characters for the study.

Ten Most Popular Star Wars Characters to Cosplay

10. Rey

Rey is the tenth most popular Star Wars character to cosplay, with an average of 6,486 monthly searches.

Portrayed by Daisy Ridley, Rey first appeared in “Episode VII – The Force Awakens” (2015), and during the sequel trilogy, she grew from a scavenger on the desert planet Jakku to fulfill her destiny as a powerful Jedi. Along the way, she faced off against Kylo Ren, Snoke, and a resurrected Emperor Palpatine.
