White Castle Orlando launches delivery service ahead of official opening

Central Florida residents and visitors craving White Castle sliders are in luck: ahead of the new Orlando location opening this spring, the castle has launched a virtual kitchen and delivery service.

UPDATE – 02/25/21: White Castle has shared another statement announcing the closure of its Orlando virtual kitchen until the opening of the full service site later this spring.

We are going to pause operations at our virtual kitchen in Orlando until after our full service restaurant location in the O-Town West development opens.

The overwhelming number of orders for White Castle has been humbling and reinforces we made the right choice to choose Central Florida as the site for our next permanent destination Castle. Because of the relatively small size of the virtual kitchen and the incredibly high number of orders, running the virtual kitchen isn’t currently sustainable.

We want to apologize for all our craving fans who have to wait just a bit longer as we work towards our opening date later this Spring.

Jamie T. Richardson, Vice President of White Castle Management Co.

UPDATE – 02/24/21: White Castle has shared a statement regarding the status of its virtual kitchen and delivery service for Orlando, which you can read below:

We never want to disappoint any fans of the Castle ever. With that in mind, our Orlando White Castle virtual kitchen will remain closed on Wednesday [Feb. 24] as we invest some time to prepare. We will re-open our Orlando White Castle virtual kitchen on Thursday, Feb. 25 at 10 a.m. for online pick-up orders only.

Order through the app or at Order.WhiteCastle.com. We will not be taking delivery orders through Uber Eats for now, but do look forward to offering that service soon.

Jamie T. Richardson, Vice President of White Castle Management Co.

White Castle has secured virtual kitchen space in Orlando and hired 25 team members for delivery operations, which will be made in partnership with Uber Eats and available within a 15-minute delivery radius of the facility – located near John Young Parkway and Colonial Drive.

The delivery menu will offer limited but popular items, including The Original Slider, Chicken Rings, Crinkle Cut French fries and Mozzarella Cheese Sticks. There’s also an option to order online at WhiteCastle.com/Orlando and pick up the order at 18 North Dollins Ave., Orlando, FL, 32805. Delivery operations will run from 10 a.m. – 10 p.m., seven days per week.

“We are committed to bringing hot and tasty White Castle food to Central Florida, said Mike Guinan, vice president of operations services for White Castle. “Our plan is to s roll this out thoughtfully with our family-owned business emphasis on quality. We anticipate that our delivery operations will scale up in the months to come.”

Virtual — also known as “smart” kitchens — are commercial kitchen spaces designed for deliveries and take-out-only preparation by both brands and concepts without a brick-and-mortar location. There’s no physical space for customers, and orders are picked up by a delivery driver or the customer and enjoyed off-premises.

The physical Orlando location will open this coming spring at The Village at O-Town West (on Daryl Carter Parkway off of I-4) as the world’s largest White Castle, complete with indoor and outdoor seating and two drive-through lanes.
