World’s first Jumanji-themed ride will open in 2022 at Gardaland
Sony Pictures has announced that Gardaland Park in Italy will be the first theme park in the world to feature a fully-themed Jumanji ride called Jumanji – The Adventure, based on Sony Pictures’ global film franchise.
Following the original 1995 Robin Williams film about a mysterious game that transports its players to the jungles of Jumanji, the franchise continued in “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle” (2017) and “Jumanji: The Next Level” (2019) starring Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, Kevin Hart, and Karen Gillan.
The Jumanji franchise is popular with both family and teenage audiences and has taken in $2.1 billion at the global box office, making it Sony Pictures’ biggest wholly-owned film franchise of all time. In addition, the second and third films grossed more than $26.7 million combined at the Italian box office, proving the franchise is already popular in the region.

Set to open at the beginning of the 2022 season, the new attraction will be a dark ride that transports guests into the mysterious world of Jumanji, where a journey full of pitfalls, surprises, and dangers awaits them in the jungle.

Gardaland Resort is part of Merlin Entertainments — a global leader in location-based, family entertainment — and includes Gardaland Park, the new Legoland Water Park, the themed Sea Life Aquarium, and three hotels (Gardaland Hotel, Gardaland Adventure Hotel, and Gardaland Magic Hotel).
