WWE’s “Avengers: Doomsday” event at Disney World: What to know
The Dec. 15 Worlds Collide event is part of a two-day WWE takeover, with Marvel-themed title belts also coming to WWE Shop and select Disney retail stores.

WWE is stepping into the ring at Walt Disney World, and Doctor Doom is on the marquee. An “Avengers: Doomsday”-themed edition of Worlds Collide comes to ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex on Dec. 15, three days before Marvel’s movie opens in U.S. theaters.
The show brings together wrestlers from WWE, NXT and AAA and caps a two-day takeover that opens with the first John Cena Classic. Marvel fans can also purchase “Avengers: Doomsday” title belts at the WWE World fan event, through WWE Shop and at select Disney retail stores.

Why John Cena?
Cena’s WWE gear carries the slogan “Never Give Up,” and he’s spent years meeting young fans through Make-A-Wish. In 2022, Guinness World Records recognized him for granting 650 wishes, the most by any individual in the foundation’s history at the time.
The John Cena Classic puts the spotlight on the next generation of wrestlers. Talent from “Raw” and “SmackDown” will face rising stars from NXT, and Club WWE members will vote live for the night’s standout performer.
Disney and WWE’s history
Disney and WWE were working together before this December’s takeover. WWE struck a streaming deal with Disney+ Hotstar in Indonesia in 2022. In the U.S., Disney-owned ESPN became the home of WWE’s premium live events in September 2025, starting with Wrestlepalooza.
And who could forget, Wrestling star Hulk Hogan filmed scenes for the 1990s action series “Thunder in Paradise” at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort.
The December shows create an in-person event at Walt Disney World. The John Cena Classic will stream on Netflix as a special edition of “Monday Night Raw.”
More “Avengers: Doomsday” promotions
WWE’s title belts are one of the more unexpected tie-ins ahead of the movie’s Dec. 18 release. Outside the ring, brands including Pop Secret, Dunkin’ and Oreo have announced their own movie promotions.

Doctor Doom may be headed for the big screen, but his first stop that week is the wrestling ring at Disney World.
