‘Zootopia: Better Zoogether!’ at Disney’s Animal Kingdom | Inside the new show opening November 7
“Zootopia: Better Zoogether!,” the 3D show replacing “It’s Tough to be a Bug!” at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, will open on Nov. 7, 2025. We’ve got a sneak peek inside.

Seeing as the former “Bug’s Life” attraction closed permanently in March 2025 in this same space inside Animal Kingdom’s Tree of Life, that places the “Zootopia” show on a turn-around of less than eight months.
The attraction opens just in time for the release of “Zootopia 2” in movie theaters on Nov. 26, 2025.
The new show takes place on Zoogether Day, a city-wide celebration.

In the new Animal Kingdom attraction, Ginnifer Goodwin and Jason Bateman return as Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde, respectively, reprising their roles from the “Zootopia” films. The “Better Zoogether!” animation was directed by Byron Howard (director of “Zootopia,” “Encanto,” and “Zootopia 2”) and the script was co-written by Jared Bush (writer/director of “Zootopia,” “Encanto,” and “Zootopia 2”).

The entrance sign features wooden carvings of Clawhauser and Flash.

“Zootopia: Better Zoogether!” will be presented in “CarrotVision 3D,” tech produced by Hopps Family Farm, explaining why guests wear 3D glasses. (The name is also a nod to Disney’s CircleVision 3D films of yore.)

In the holding area prior to entering the theater, a bulletin board displays community postings from various Zootopia residents.

Duke has a new batch of “Totally Legit DVDs”:
- The Little Marshmaid
- Engato
- The Three Caballos
- Floatzen IV
- Moolan
- Fish
- The Emperor’s New Hooves
- Meowana 2

The Cub Community Theater is putting on a production of “It’s Tough to be a Bunny,” a reference to the previous attraction in this space.

There’s a lot happening in Zootopia.

“Better Zoogether!” is hosted by a new character named Heidi Howler.

The show will explore different animal biomes, each with its own performing act, including:
- Little Rodentia, featuring the Shrew Angels
- Marsh Market, featuring the Marshmaids
- Tundratown, featuring the Predator and Prey Ice Ballet
- Sahara Square, featuring Gazelle

Officer Benjamin Clawhauser will appear as an Audio-Animatronic figure in the show, positioned in the same stage-left spot that formerly belonged to the Hopper animatronic in “It’s Tough to be a Bug!”

In tandem with the opening of the new attraction and new “Zootopia 2” movie, Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde will greet guests in new outfits at Animal Kingdom. Their meet & greet will be located on Discovery Island at a place Disney calls the Zoogether Gathering Spot.

Speaking to the larger themes of Animal Kingdom, the new “Zootopia” show is “a reminder that the natural world is profoundly interconnected, and we are no exception,” Disney said in a press release.
