Mission: Space upgrades space-themed restaurant
A new space-themed restaurant and Mission: Space upgrades were announced for Epcot at D23 Expo 2017.
At D23 Expo 2017, Imagineer Tom Fitzgerald announced that a new space-themed table service restaurant is being built in Epcot’s Future World near Mission: Space, which is also being upgraded.

The restaurant, which will be located adjacent to the park’s Mission: Space attraction, will be operated by the Patina Restaurant Group. Patina Restaurant Group operates several other restaurants at Walt Disney World including Tutto Italia and Via Napoli at Epcot and Morimoto Asia at Disney Springs.

“We know our guests love dining at Epcot – and the restaurants really are out of this world,” Tom said. “Now we’re about to create one that takes that literally.”

In addition, when Mission: Space reopens from its current refurbishment, it will have some new upgrades courtesy of Industrial Light and Magic. The Orange “spinning” side of the attraction will still feature a mission to Mars, but with improved visuals. The Green “no spinning” side will have an entirely new “Earth orbit” mission designed for the whole family to comfortably enjoy.

No opening date or name was announced for the new restaurant. Mission: Space is scheduled to reopen in August.

  1. Is thus restaurant expected to go where the old Odyssey restaurant was? Makes sense to put it there, and give a nod to the old restaurant. I’m down with that if they do it 🙂
