“GIJoeCon,” the 18th annual official G.I. Joe Convention, will kick off at the Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel on April 2 and 3, with more than 300 parachuting G.I. Joe figures being launched off the roof of the hotel. In addition to the thousands of rare and vintage G.I. Joe figurines, the event will also feature special guests, costume contests, seminars and panels.
The convention is put on by the G.I. Joe Collectors’ Club and Hasbro, the creators and owners of the franchise. The event will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, with adult tickets priced at $12, and children 5 to 12 at $8. Children 4 and under are free. The first 100 children (12 years and younger) on Saturday morning will receive a free G.I. Joe gift.
