With seemingly every weekend now occupied by a runDisney event at one theme park or another, Disney’s popular foot races are expanding into your neighborhood with the newly announced 2016 runDisney Virtual Running Shorts series.
The all-new runDisney Virtual Running Shorts Series launches this summer and includes three 5Ks that you complete from whatever course you choose – through your neighborhood, on the treadmill, etc. Participants receive a uniquely designed finisher medal for each 5K completed plus a challenge medal for finishing all three virtual 5Ks. The runDisney virtual events will be held over May 15 – June 1, June 5 – June 18, and June 19 – June 30.
Each finisher medal will spotlight one of Mickey Mouse’s iconic staples – yellow shoes, red pants and white gloves. Runners taking on the challenge of all three virtual runs will earn a special medal that features Mickey sporting his complete ensemble.
Even though the events are virtual, you still have to pay real money to participate, but at least a portion of your registration fees will benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Prices start at $39 for a single race with a medal and digital race bib, and go to $142 for all three races plus a series medal and tumbler. You can register now at this website, or go here to learn more about the runDisney Virtural Running Shorts.
