At the risk of angering fans of the corn dog at Sleepy Hollow Refreshments in Magic Kingdom, corn dogs at Walt Disney World lack the quality of corn dogs at Disneyland Resort. However, a messiah for corn dog fans may have landed from Disneyland Resort to Walt Disney World Resort.

Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs opened at Disney’s BoardWalk on Aug. 23, 2024. This corn dog stand was rumored to be coming to Walt Disney World in late 2022. An official announcement came in the summer of 2023. Obviously, the wait for corn dog fans at Walt Disney World has been extreme.

Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs

Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs has provided quality corn dogs and other dining creations for many years in California. For years, the Disneyland Resort version of Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs has been creating internet-worthy corn dogs and other creative concoctions, like a giant mozzarella stick. Based on the company’s promotional information, we expected the same unique style of items at the Walt Disney World spot. Would the curse of lesser corn dogs be over at Walt Disney World? We went to find out.

Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs at Disney’s BoardWalk

Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs, a quick-service operation, takes up residence at a food and beverage kiosk formerly known as BoardWalk To Go, across from AbracadaBar.

As you would expect, this place focuses on corn dogs. However, one should not expect just a standard one in cornmeal batter. Still, this place serves traditional corn dogs ($12.99) and a smaller kid-size version ($10.99). Both of those options come with chips. A common complaint guests have at the Disneyland Resort location stems from classic Lay’s Chips being the only choice of chips. This was the pattern at the BoardWalk location, as well. However, they go nicely with the Blue Ribbon menu items.

Ordering at Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs

The ordering process works fine. You order from a window on the left side of the food and beverage kiosk. You are given a standard restaurant pager to indicate when your order is ready. All corn dogs at this place are made to order. Guests should expect to wait about 10 minutes from ordering until the food is prepared for pickup. We tried several of the more unique corn dogs on the menu at Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs. What did we think?

Golden Dragon Corn Dog

Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs

A fan favorite at Disneyland Resort migrated to the Blue Ribbon Corn Dog at Disney’s BoardWalk. The Golden Dragon Corn Dog consists of a classic all-beef corn dog crusted with panko breadcrumbs. It is served with a side of sriracha mayonnaise and sweet Thai chili for $15.50. It comes with a bag of chips. The corn dog is well prepared and the sauces make this corn dog stand out for fans of this fried treat.

Mexican Street Corn Dog

For those looking for a more adventurous corn dog, this place has you covered. The Mexican Street Corn Dog includes a jalapeño cheddar sausage fried in cornmeal batter. It is then topped with garlic mayo, corn kernels, cotija cheese, and cilantro. To complete this corn dog, it comes garnished with a lime wedge. The expected bag of chips also comes with this menu item for a total of $15.50. We found this corn dog to be our favorite of the day.

The Pickle Dog

Of course, one infamous item also resides on this menu: the Pickle Dog. This creation earns significant praise or immense criticism from Disneyland Resort guests. The Pickle Dog takes a hot dog and wraps it in a pickle. It is then fried in cornmeal batter and receives a panko crust. Guests should expect a smaller hot dog within this menu item because the pickle is crucial.

As it does at Disneyland, the Pickle Dog at the BoardWalk comes served with a bag of chips and a side of peanut butter for dipping. This menu item costs $15.50.

Pickle fans will enjoy this. We still do not understand how peanut butter works so well with the pickle dog, but it does. Mixing the panko crust, pickle, and peanut butter should intrigue and delight most guests.

Additional menu items at Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs

Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs sells beverages and cotton candy to complete the menu. Guests who add lemonade to their corn dog order save $2. Premium flavor upgrades can also be made to your lemonade. For cotton candy fans, the flavors are pink vanilla or pineapple. We suggest that if you go with the cotton candy, you eat it quickly since the Florida heat does not look favorably on these.

Did Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs finally break the curse?

We feared that the quality of corn dogs made at the California location would not appear at the Walt Disney World Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs. However, we found these tasted great. In fact, all the trusted colleagues we chatted with on the opening day of this corn dog stand agreed.

Is the curse broken? We say so. A hero for corn dog fans has finally arrived at Disney’s BoardWalk. Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs makes a solid and badly needed addition. With other Disney’s Boardwalk restaurants closing, BoardWalk fans should appreciate this simple-looking corn dog stand. This place opens daily at 11 a.m. for guests to try these long-awaited corn dogs. When you visit Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs, let us know what you think of these corn dogs.
