Busch Gardens Williamsburg announces member preview of Pantheon mega-coaster
Busch Gardens Williamsburg debuts Pantheon, the world’s fastest multi-launch coaster, on March 25, but members will have access starting March 4.
Thrill seekers have been eagerly awaiting the big grand opening of mega-coaster Pantheon, and for those who hold a membership pass to the park, the wait is nearly over. On select dates, starting March 4, they’ll be given exclusive access to the ride.
The multi-launch steel coaster, manufactured by Intamin Worldwide, calls on the attributes of five Roman gods –Pluto, Mercury, Jupiter, Minerva, and Neptune – for its record-breaking strength, speed, and power. Aspects of the track “reflect the gods’ powers.”
During their sneak-peek preview, members will experience speeds up to 73 miles per hour, a 95˚ drop, four launches, five air-time hills, and two inversions along 3,300 feet of track, with a high-point of 180 feet.
“The opening of Pantheon has been much anticipated,” said Kevin Lembke, Busch Gardens Williamsburg park president, “and we are thrilled to add such an innovative attraction to our thrill ride portfolio. With multiple launches, a beyond-vertical drop, speed changes, and other unique ride components, this coaster creates an unforgettable ride experience.”
Pantheon, located in the Festa Italia section of the park, is Busch Gardens Williamsburg’s eighth coaster, and has a heigh restriction of 52” (4’ 3”). The coaster will open to all park visitors on March 25.
Sister-park Water Country USA is thrilled to announce its new Aquazoid Amped immersive ride experience will be opening this May.
For a limited time, guests can save up to $35 on the purchase of a two-park membership, giving them one year of unlimited access to the park (some memberships have Blackout dates), plus free parking, admission to select special events, up to six free guest tickets, discounts on merchandise, and more.
