Café La Bamba restaurant at Universal Orlando reopening for all guests

Universal Studios Florida will have a new option for celebrating “Taco Tuesday” soon. Café La Bamba looks to be opening with a new quick-service menu featuring burritos and tacos.

La Bamba at Universal Studios Florida

Many Universal Studios Florida guests have never dined at Café La Bamba. In 2020, this location was converted to being a “Skeleton Bar” during the spooky season that year, but this dining location, over the past decade or more, provided food and beverage for only special events such as VIP tours or media events. Yesterday, a brand-new menu for Café La Bamba appeared on Universal Orlando’s website. In addition, a quick online search shows operating hours listed for Café La Bamba at Universal Studios Florida now.

Carmen’s Veranda

Universal Orlando Resort has been undergoing extensive payment repairs recently leading to many construction walls seen around the parks. A few months ago, construction walls went up around Carmen’s Veranda, a food and beverage kiosk near Café La Bamba. When the walls came down, the kiosk failed to reappear. Perhaps this was a clue that Universal Orlando possessed different food service plans for this area of Universal Studios Florida.

The new Café La Bamba online menu resembles fast-casual style places like Moe’s Southwest Grill in CityWalk. The online Café La Bamba menu includes burritos, tacos, salads, and taco bowls. The protein options for these dishes involve Baja shrimp, carne asada, mojo pork, pollo Asado, portobello al pastor, and vegan chorizo.

Some good news for vegan diners resides on the online menu. Vegan entrees have two protein choices with portobello al pastor and vegan chorizo. The vegan entrées come with vegan cheese. Vegan sour cream will be included if purchasing a deluxe vegan entrée.

The menu entrees range in price from $13.49 to $16.49. The vegan entrées cost a little more than non-vegan entrées, though.

Some other unique options appear on this menu. For example, guests may order a salsa flight. For $6.99, this flight includes hand-cut Pico de Gallo, roasted corn salsa, and spicy tomatillo with lime-salted corn tortilla chips.

For dessert, the menu presents two options. Both qualify as non-traditional theme park food. Guests can purchase the Horchata Tres Leches Cake for $5.99. According to Universal Orlando, this vanilla cake comes soaked in horchata with dulce de leche. A version of the chicharrons that Universal Orlando served during Halloween Horror Nights 2022 exists on the menu here. The Cinnamon Chicharrons de Harina consists of crispy flour shaped like a pinwheel with cinnamon sugar churro seasoning added.
