Camp Snoopy is being reimagined at Knott’s Berry Farm in 2024
On Memorial Day weekend 2024, kids of all ages will get to experience a reimagined Camp Snoopy at Knott’s Berry Farm in Buena Park, California. This will include brand-new additions, updates to old attractions, a reimagined dining area, new shows, character greetings, and more.
Inspired by the California High Sierras, Camp Snoopy is the place where the iconic Peanuts Gang made its first debut outside the comic strip back when it opened in 1983. The updated story is that park guests entering Camp Snoopy will become official campers during the camp’s annual jamboree, a fun week of camp activities and competition.
“Experiencing first rides and first theme park moments as a family, is what Knott’s is all about,” said Jon Storbeck, vice president and general manager. “Our newly reimagined Camp Snoopy will allow parents and kids to ride and play together and be truly immersed in a summer camp experience right alongside the entire Peanuts Gang.”
On Snoopy’s Tenderpaw Twister Coaster, Beagle Scout Master Snoopy and his troop take guests on a new first coaster experience through the forest. It’s the only family coaster that will take both kids and parents up a lift hill while delivering a pint-sized launch. Guests will get to ride twice making it a lengthier adventure for all to enjoy.
The current Rocky Mountain Trucking Company is being transformed into Camp Snoopy’s Off-Road Rally. Each of the jeep’s will be themed to Snoopy or favorite members of the Peanuts gang. Riders will drive through an expanded track and terrain while racing to the finish line. While taking in the funny road signs and obstacles, you’ll need to keep your eyes out for course checkpoints to succeed.
A new, super-sized swing set named Sally’s Swing Along is big enough for the entire Peanuts gang. Kids and parents will be able to sit alongside each other on the giant bench swing and glide ten feet toward the sky.
Campers can earn merit badges by testing their Beagle Scout skills at the Barrell Bridge and Waterfall area of camp. A brand-new lookout terrace will be a relaxing area for parents to enjoy while watching their children explore below.
The Grand Sierra Railroad train that rides through Camp Snoopy is getting an upgrade as the Beagle Express. New camp vignettes will be added to the journey as you see Snoopy and the Peanuts gang prepare for the jamboree events. Fellow campers will be spotted decorating their cabins for a “Best Cabin” contest, along with more camp activities.
The new Camp Snoopy Theater will feature log benches surrounding a fire pit. During daytime hours, the space will house a new Camp Snoopy show while offering more shade and a larger stroller parking area. When the sun sets, the firepit will be lit for special campfire entertainment.
No visit to Camp Snoopy would be complete without a visit to see Charlie Brown, Lucy, Linus, Pigpen, Sally, Marcie, and Snoopy. You’ll be able to find the gang throughout the land at varying times daily.
The new Camp Post Office area will be the perfect home for the existing Woodstock’s Airmail ride. Guests will once again strap into their seats as they soar into the sky and back down again with Snoopy’s favorite feathered friend.
The Grizzly Lodge dining hall will feature new décor and menu items, new family restrooms, and a new Snoopy Camp Store.
