The stats of AlpenFury, new at Canada’s Wonderland in 2025

The new AlpenFury launch coaster will officially open July 12, 2025, at Canada’s Wonderland near Toronto. The ride contains nine inversions, a record-breaking number among North American launch coasters. Themed to fire and ice, AlpenFury weaves in and around the park’s Wonder Mountain structure, joining three existing attractions that do so.

AlpenFury reaches 50 meters (164 feet) into the air and 115 km/h (71 mph).

AlpenFury was manufactured by Premier Rides. The company previously built Revenge of the Mummy for Universal Studios parks and Ice Breaker for SeaWorld Orlando, among other coasters.

The lore and legend of AlpenFury

AlpenFury is located in Alpenfest, a newly themed area of Canada’s Wonderland. The backstory of the coaster and the land follows a local village’s annual festival celebrating the mythic phenomenon of fire and ice colliding “to create a powerful natural force that is both terrifying and awe-inspiring.”

Undeterred by any warnings of danger, you, the rider, hop on a sled for a ride through Wonder Mountain. As is often a a mantra for these things: What could go wrong?

AlpenFury’s track features several signature moves, as named by Canada’s Wonderland:

  • The Fire Serpent Roll, a weightless inversion with two near-miss encounters between train and track
  • The Skyflyer Loop, a helix + zero-G stall + descending roll
  • The Ice Winder Roll Twists, two inversions that twist and then untwist back to back
