Canada’s Wonderland announces its full lineup of special events for 2022

Canada’s Wonderland amusement park in Vaughan, Ontario will reopen for the 2022 season on April 30, and this year it will host ten special events, including three new food festivals.

Portugal, Ireland, and the Caribbean will each have their own food festival, and the park will also bring back its long weekend fireworks, as well as established fan favorites such as Camp Spooky, Halloween Haunt, and WinterFest.

“We are really pleased to be able to provide our guests with a full season of fun once again,” said General Manager Norm Pirtovshek. “With more than 200 attractions at the park, we’re known for thrills, but the return of our summer events really enriches the park experience, offering something for guests of all ages through spring, summer, fall, and winter.”

Canada’s Wonderland event lineup for 2022:

Fireworks – On May 22, July 1, July 31, and September 4, guests can enjoy spectacular fireworks displays over the park skyline, choreographed to a lively soundtrack.

Brew & BBQ – An annual favorite returns from June 24-26, with live music, dozens of craft beers and ciders, and a summer-inspired menu featuring ribs, gourmet burgers, and BBQ chicken.

Celebration Canada – Join Canada’s biggest birthday celebration from July 1-17, highlighted by music, street entertainment, and the skills and antics of the West Coast Lumberjacks. Canadian foods will be on offer, including beef sliders, poutine, mac ‘n cheese, and more.

KidZfest – Families can dance with the Peanuts gang, take part in interactive games, and enjoy live entertainment during this event, which runs from July 23-August 7.

Taste of Portugal – New in 2022, this festival celebrates the charm of Portugal from August 13-14, featuring traditional foods such as roast chicken and Portuguese custard tarts, as well as live entertainment.

Taste of Ireland – Also new this year, the Emerald Isle has its own celebration of culture and cuisine, plus Celtic music and dancers, from August 20-21. Taste hearty Irish dishes such as Guinness BBQ Pork Ribs, Irish Shepard’s Pie, and sweet treats of Chocolate Guinness Cake and Butterscotch Apple Cake.

Taste of the Caribbean – The third new-comer for 2022 is this August 27-28 delve into the flavors of the Caribbean, from jerk chicken to specialty seafood, rum cake, coconut sweets, and fruity summer drinks, set against a backdrop of steel drum music.

Oktoberfest – For two weekends (Sept. 10-11 and 17-18), visitors can indulge in German themed food, drink, and traditional bands at the Medieval Faire castle courtyard. Sample classic items such as sausage, schnitzel, Bavarian pretzels, and (for ages 21 and up) a stein of lager.

Camp Spooky – It’s family-friendly Halloween fun when the Peanuts gang are on hand for live shows, trick-or-treating, interactive games, rides, and more. There is even a costume parade kids can take part in!

All of these events are included with park admission.

Halloween Haunt will also return this year, as a paid-for event, on select nights from September 23-October 30. Scare zones, mazes, live entertainment, and hundreds of monsters transform the park into spooky central.

And from November 18-December 31, another park transformation takes place, this time into a winter wonderland of holiday magic with WinterFest.
