Cast of ‘The Secret Life of Pets’ to reprise their roles in new ride at Universal Studios Hollywood

The voice cast behind the furry stars of Illumination’s “The Secret Life of Pets” and “The Secret Life of Pets 2” will reprise their roles in Universal Studios Hollywood’s new ride, The Secret Life of Pets: Off the Leash!

The new ride, which opens this spring, will answer the age-old question, “What are your pets really doing when you’re not at home?”

This will be the first time the ensemble cast reprises their roles for a theme park attraction. The film’s talent includes Patton Oswalt as Max, Kevin Hart as Snowball, Eric Stonestreet as Duke, Jenny Slate as Gidget, Tiffany Haddish as Daisy, Lake Bell as Chloe, Dana Carvey as Pops, Steve Coogan as Ozone, Chris Renaud as Norman, Hannibal Buress as Buddy, Bobby Moynihan as Mel, Jessica Cicicco as Princess, and Tara Strong as Pickles.

On The Secret Life of Pets: Off the Leash!, guests will experience the rite of passage that is “Adoption Day” as they assume the roles of stray puppies on a quest to find their forever homes. The ride will combine live and animated characters with hyper-realistic media and projection mapping to immerse riders in a New York City landscape. Seated inside ride vehicles that look like cardboard boxes, riders will travel along a track toward the Pet Adoption event and their happy ending.

The ride will combine facial recognition with enhanced gesture tracking, which will help identify each guest as a unique stray puppy for the duration of the ride. Every time guests ride, they will see themselves represented as a different stray puppy.

The Secret Life of Pets: Off the Leash! will be located on Pets Place, previously known as Baker Street, adjacent to the Despicable Me Minion Mayhem and Super Silly Fun Land attractions.
