Legoland Florida celebrated the start of their first holiday event at the new park yesterday. USA Olympic medalist David Oliver threw the switch to light the Lego Christmas tree.
A day before their official opening, Legoland Florida announced they would be opening a water park in 2012. Their first ever expansion is slated to open by next summer. The new water park will feature a wave pool, Build-A-Raft lazy river, tube slides, body slides and an interactive water-play structure called Duplo Safari.
The brand new Legoland Florida theme park is gearing up for their first holiday celebration. Christmas Bricktacular will be happening from Dec. 8 through 31, 2011.
Legoland Florida has a developed a free app for both iPhone and Android users. The interactive app features information about the new theme park with certain features that can be used inside or outside the park.

By Kevin Yee I’d like to introduce a new feature for Orlando Attractions Magazine called Photo Finds, which will use a narrated video slideshow to point out whatever is new in the parks (or new to me, anyway!) as I visit each week. I hope you enjoy them.
The first major theme park to open in the United States in a decade, Legoland Florida got off to a busy start with thousands of visitors lining up near the park’s entrance before dawn for the 10 a.m. opening ceremony.
Legoland Florida officially opens in a few days on Oct. 15, 2011, but a lucky few have been getting previews of the park. We went to the park yesterday as a guest for one of two AAA member previews. We took photos and videos of just about every ride, show, store and restaurant. Let’s start…
