Santa and an Olympian help light Legoland Florida’s first Brickmas Tree

Legoland Florida celebrated the start of their first holiday event at the new park yesterday. USA Olympic medalist David Oliver threw the switch to light the Lego Christmas tree.

Oliver was joined by Legoland Florida General Manager Adrian Jones in front of the 30-foot-tall tree made from 270,000 Duplo and Lego bricks. After Olympic Hurdler David Oliver hurdled up to the tree, Santa Claus also appeared to help light the tree and start Christmas Bricktacular.

Festive decorations and sounds of the season will fill The Beginning and Fun Town, followed by Kids’ New Year’s Eve on Dec. 31.

Through Dec. 31, a special family will be chosen to help light the Bricktacular tree each evening. Kids can meet Santa Claus daily in the historical botanical gardens.
