The Boardwalk will debut on the park’s opening day in 2023, bringing the nostalgia of yesteryear to the lakeside attraction.

In commemoration of Cedar Point’s original Grand Pavilion, which opened in 1888, a new bi-level Grand Pavilion will anchor The Boardwalk and will feature a new restaurant and a bar with indoor and outdoor seating, highlighted by views over Cedar Point Beach and Lake Erie.

“The Boardwalk is our vision of what the classic Cedar Point Boardwalk would have felt like long ago: the sights, the sounds, the electricity of the experience – this new area captures it all,” said Carrie Boldman, vice president and general manager of Cedar Point. “Lakeside attractions have always been a part of Cedar Point’s 153-year history, and that tradition lives on. We can’t wait for our guests to enjoy this stunning new centerpiece of summertime fun.”

Two of the park’s current attractions – Matterhorn and Scrambler – will find new homes at The Boardwalk, and Scrambler will be renamed Atomic Scrambler.

The spinning ride Tiki Twirl will also get a refresh and a new name, honoring the former attraction, Calypso. The former ride’s namesake will join a new Wild Mouse roller coaster and existing classics Giant Wheel, Troika, Dodgem, GateKeeper, and WindSeeker, in the park’s upcoming new hub.

Recalling the family fun of Cedar Point’s original Wild Mouse coaster, the upcoming 52-foot-tall version will have the added element of cars that spin 360-degrees as they travel along 1,312 feet of dipping, dropping, hairpin-turning track.

The Zamperla-designed coaster’s height requirement will be 42 inches when accompanied by a supervising companion, or 48 inches when riding alone. Wild Mouse will be Cedar Point’s 18th roller coaster.

As the park goes through this major transition, it also brings back the $99 Gold Pass, which gives guests unlimited admission to the park for the rest of the 2022 season, and all of the 2023 season. It also includes Cedar Point Shores Waterpark, free parking, in-park discounts, and unlimited visits to the annual HalloWeekends event.

The Platinum Pass adds Early Entry, allowing passholders to enter the park one hour prior to regular park opening. It also includes admission and parking at all Cedar Fair parks in the U.S. and Canada.

Gold and Platinum Season Passes are available at a discounted price through September 6, 2022.
