Celebrate May the Fourth with premiere of ‘Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian’ and finale of ‘Star Wars: The Clone Wars’ on Disney+

On May the Fourth, AKA Star Wars Day, Disney+ will celebrate with brand-new original content featuring “The Mandalorian” and “Star Wars: The Clone Wars.”

The annual holiday began as a fan-generated celebration of the Star Wars universe, and has since become a fully-fledged celebration. This year, fans can look forward to a new documentary series that goes behind-the-scenes of “The Mandalorian” and the epic conclusion of “Star Wars: The Clone Wars.”

“Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian”

Series Premiere – Monday, May 4

In “Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian,” Executive Producer Jon Favreau invites the cast and crew to share a look at the making of the series. This eight-episode documentary will “pull back the curtain” on “The Mandalorian,” with each chapter exploring a different aspect of the show through interviews, never-before-seen footage, and roundtable conversations hosted by Favreau.

“‘Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian’ is an opportunity for fans of the show to take a look inside and get to see a different perspective, and perhaps a greater understanding, of how ‘The Mandalorian’ came together and some of the incredibly talented contributors throughout Season 1,” said Favreau. “We had a great experience making the show and we’re looking forward to sharing it with you.”

Topics covered in the docuseries include the filmmaking process, the legacy of George Lucas’ ‘Star Wars,’ how the cast brought the characters to life, the series’ groundbreaking technology, the artistry behind the show’s practical models, effects, and creatures, plus the creative influences, the iconic score, and connections to ‘Star Wars’ characters and props.

“Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian” will premiere three days after ‘The Mandalorian’ will wrap its first season in the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Germany, Spain, Austria, and Switzerland. New episodes of the documentary series will stream every Friday on Disney+.

“Star Wars: The Clone Wars”

Series Finale – Monday, May 4

After seven seasons, another chapter in the ‘Star Wars’ saga, “Star Wars: The Clone Wars,” will come to an end on Star Wars Day — offering a bittersweet goodbye on May the Fourth.

The series, created by George Lucas and Lucasfilm Animation with Dave Filoni (“The Mandalorian”) serving as Executive Producer and Supervising Director, will conclude its run by exploring the events leading up to “Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith.”
