This marked the 17th-annual tree lighting ceremony for the theme park located in Carlsbad, Calif.

Murray, best known for his role as Lucas Scott on “One Tree Hill” and his recent stint as Edgar Evernever on The CW’s “Riverdale,” spent the day enjoying the park’s rides, shows and attractions with his family before heading to Legoland California’s famous 30-foot-tall Lego Christmas tree for the evening festivities.

Before pulling the switch that turned on over 11,000 LED lights, Murray was presented a Lego UniKitty ornament as an invitation to return when the park’s new expansion, The Lego Movie World, is completed in spring 2020.

During the ceremony, Legoland California Resort donated $10,000 on Murray’s behalf to The Playmakers, a nonprofit organization that serves children from disadvantaged backgrounds with emotional, physical and social challenges. Created by former NFL player Greg Roeszler, the organization teaches kids character skills and encourages self-worth by introducing them to volunteerism and the concept of teamwork.
