Page to Stage Signature Experience, A Backstage Tour

“Drawn to Life” is the live theatrical production presented by Cirque du Soleil and Disney at Disney Springs — the shopping, dining, and entertainment district at Walt Disney World Resort near Orlando, Fla. Now guests will have a chance to take a look backstage at “Drawn to Life.”

The Page to Stage Signature Experience opens to the public May 24, 2024, and Attractions Magazine was invited out to a special sneak preview.

Part 1: Introductions

The experience begins before the show, when Page to Stage guests meet their tour guide. The tour guides are hand-selected for their passion and knowledge about Disney and Cirque. Throughout the experience, they intersperse interesting anecdotes and point out the show’s references to both of those companies.

Part 2: The Show

After this, guests select a non-alcoholic beverage and concession item (including a new “Drawn to Life”-themed popcorn bucket) and get escorted to their special assigned seating for the show. The seats are located on the left side of the house toward the middle and about halfway up, so no problem viewing every part of “Drawn to Life.”

Part 3: Backstage Tour

After the show, the Page to Stage tour guide comes out to collect the guests and begin the tour proper.

The tour ventures into the employees-only backstage area of a working theater, so it is far from glamorous or jazzed up with Disney magic. The real magic comes from seeing the one-of-a-kind props, puppets, costumes, and technical elements up close and personal. Guests are allowed and even encouraged to take as many close-up photos and videos as they want, so long as they don’t film the entire tour from start to finish.

First stop is a special meet and greet with some of the artists the guests just saw perform. Afterward, the tour continues underneath the stage to the pit to see the mechanisms and elevators that open and close and rise and fall on the stage during the show. Also dotted around are various props and set pieces which make their appearance in the show by coming up from below.

The tour then proceeds through the working offices and employee areas of the stage, including the training room and the places where costumes and props are constructed, repaired, and stored.

Then, guests move on to the actual backstage area, which is typically just out of view of the audience. Here, guests will find more of the props, costumes, and puppets used in the show, as well as get an up-close look at at some of the technical components that make the show run. Learning the secrets behind some of the effects actually makes them even more magical.

Finally, guests receive a “Drawn to Life” gift bag as a special memento of their visit.
