What are Disney’s most popular songs?
According to a new study, the soundtracks of “Moana,” “Frozen,” “Mulan,” and “The Lion King” feature Disney’s most popular songs.

Using the Spotify Playlist Miner tool, theater ticket company SeatPlan examined the top 1,000 Spotify playlists featuring the word “Disney” in their title to determine Disney’s most popular songs.
“Disney’s ability to consistently make incredibly successful songs is fascinating,” said SeatPlan CEO Ben Jackson. “The songs can encompass an array of experiences and emotions and their popularity speaks to the cultural legacy Disney’s films have.”

In fourth place is “I’ll Make a Man Out of You,” sung by Donny Osmond on the “Mulan” soundtrack. The song is featured on 270 playlists and has gained over 319 million streams on Spotify.

Fun Fact: Osmond auditioned for “Hercules” but wasn’t cast because he sounded “too old” (Roger Bart got the gig despite being only five years younger). However, he was cast to sing Shang’s song in “Mulan” because his singing voice sounded like the character’s voice actor, BD Wong.
#3 “I Just Can’t Wait to Be King” From “The Lion King”
Placing third is “I Just Can’t Wait to Be King,” sung by Simba actor Jason Weaver in “The Lion King.” The song, which also features Rowan Atkinson as Zazu and Laura Williams as Nala, was featured in 276 playlists and has amassed 290 million streams.

Songwriter Lin-Manuel Miranda has said he was worried about whether Johnson would want to sing for the role but lucky for fans, The Rock was more than happy to sing Disney’s most popular song.

Top 20: Disney’s Most Popular Songs on Spotify
“Clearly, audiences love returning to the lyrical magic of Disney tracks. It is encouraging to see many tracks in the top ten are from films that were released even before the millennium, proving the timeless quality they have,” Jackson said. “This vast success of every soundtrack cements Disney’s eternal popularity and status in the discourse of music and shows how Disney continues to enchant new generations of fans with their fun melodies and classic tales.”
