The Happiest 5K on the planet, The Color Run, is racing to Orlando in Osceola Heritage Park for its 2018 Hero Tour on Saturday, April 14.
This 5K will include all-new course elements, including a new participant kit, a Hero Zone, two Super Zones that will feature double the color, a Finish Festival, a Foam Blaster and more. The Orlando run will benefit Central Florida’s Second Harvest Food Bank, which provides wholesome food to the hungry in the community.
“Our goal at The Color Run is to create an exceptional experience that brings health and happiness to people of all ages. We want The Color Run Hero Tour to inspire all our Color Runners to celebrate their inner hero, because there’s one in all of us,” said Carrie Meng, event director for The Color Run. “Each year we create a new theme for The Color Run, giving us the opportunity to add new features to the event that our Color Runners have never seen before! In addition to our classic Color Zones, where runners get doused in color every kilometer along the 5K course, there will be Super Zones and other superhero-inspired elements.”
Participants are encouraged to arrive early to the race and warm up with Zumba exercises that will be offered before the start time of the race. After the runners go through the Start Tunnel, they can run, dance and walk their way through The Color Run Hero Tour’s new Super Zones, an enhanced Color Zone which feature two colors, vibrant music and more color than ever.
Once they get to the finish line, Color Runners can check out the Finish Festival that will include a Grub Garden with food vendors and outdoor seating, and a Hero Zone – a trampoline photo opportunity that gives runners the chance to soar in the sky and capture their hero moment. There will also be a Foam Blaster area, music, dancing, and The Color Run’s signature color throws every few minutes form the main stage.
Those participating in the Color Run can choose from a variety of registration packages to help get them ready for the race. The limited edition 2018 participant kit will include a lightning bolt t-shirt, buff, a unicorn medal and pin, two temporary tattoos and color powder packets.
