The big transformation of the 41-acre park that originally opened in 2013 is almost complete, and the official opening date is now set for May 26, 2022.

The park’s fresh, new look has been integrated into the complete re-theming as a “wild west canyon,” using a whole new color palette in copper, gold, and silver, along with eye-catching graphics.

Shane Huish, regional manager of Cowabunga Canyon, insisted, “It’s like walking into an all-new water park. Our guests are really going to like the new look and feel.”

Attractions have been renamed to reflect the western theming while mechanical systems have been upgraded and the park has doubled its number of employees and implemented new training programs.

The popular Zip, Zap Zoom is now called Boot, Scoot & Boogie while other notable changes include the renamed Boomer Wrangler, Deuce’s Wild, Ricochet Racer, Piñata Falls and Buckaroo Bayou.

The eye-catching 17,000 square foot wave pool will now be known as Cadillac Shores and feature an iconic 1959 Cadillac Eldorado as its main focus.

The park’s food and beverage offerings have also been overhauled for the re-launch, with more efficient kitchen equipment and twice the number of service windows to increase each outlet’s output.

A new point-of-sale program, which includes a season pass wristband for cash-free purchases, will also speed up the service, while two completely new food-and-beverage outlets, a Chicken Strip & Fry Shop and a funnel cakes booth, will be added in early summer.

Season pass holders will also enjoy extra value as their Cowabunga Canyon pass will now provide unlimited admission at nearby Cowabunga Bay in Henderson.

Other inclusive pass-holder perks will be free parking at both parks; 15 percent off food, non-alcoholic drinks, and retail purchases; and discounted guest tickets, as well as priority early entry and cashless pay wristbands for in-park use.
