Lego Monsters Unchained fan creator flew to Epic Universe just to finish 4,000-piece model

A Lego fan flew to Universal Epic Universe in Florida specifically to experience Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment and complete his nearly 4,000-piece model of the attraction.

Created by Patrick Creedon, the fan-designed ‘Frankenstein Manor: Monsters Unchained!’ project has reached 10,000 supporters on Lego Ideas and is under consideration to become an official retail set. In a new interview published by Lego on Oct. 10, Creedon revealed how his trip to the theme park helped him finish the elaborate design.

The approximately 5-minute, 30-second robotic-arm dark ride features 14 animated figures, elaborate physical sets and special effects as riders venture through Frankenstein Manor and encounter some of Universal’s most iconic monsters.

Lego creator shares his process

According to creator Patrick Creedon, the build came about because of his love of theme parks and Lego bricks. The whole design process took Creedon about three months. Before completing the initial model, he traveled to Epic Universe during one of the preview periods in order to make sure he captured the interior of the attractions as accurately as possible in Lego form.

The approximately 4,000-piece fan design recreates Frankenstein Manor from ‘Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment’ at Universal Epic Universe, featuring:

  • Dr. Victoria Frankenstein’s laboratory
  • The Creature’s lagoon
  • The Phantom’s pipe organ
  • The manor’s grand staircase and study with a fireplace
  • Dracula’s containment chamber with a movement feature
  • Ygor’s Catacomb Navigation Computer
  • The Mummy’s sarcophagus
  • The Wolf Man’s cave
  • The Bride’s experiment
  • A projection room with a light-up effect
  • Removable floors and roof sections revealing detailed interiors

The model also includes minifigures of Victoria Frankenstein, Ygor, Frankenstein’s Monster, the Phantom, the Mummy, the Wolf Man, the Bride, the Creature and Dracula.

What’s next?

After reaching 10,000 supporters in April 2026, the ‘Frankenstein Manor: Monsters Unchained!’ project qualified for Lego Ideas’ first 2026 review period. For the first review period there were 96 other fan submissions. Lego is expected to announce the review results this fall.

During the review process, Lego evaluates fan submissions to determine which projects will become official retail sets. Reaching 10,000 supporters does not guarantee approval.

Lego has not yet announced whether this idea will be selected for production.

A separate fan-designed Universal Monsters project by SpectralBricks was approved by Lego in July 2026, but the Epic Universe-inspired Frankenstein Manor remains under consideration.
