Kids can be just like Margo, Agnes and Edith in “Despicable Me” and sleep in hollowed out missiles among hundreds of Minions once the new Despicable Me renovated kids suites debut this fall at Loews Portofino Bay Hotel at Universal Orlando Resort.
The Despicable Me Minion Mayhem attraction at Universal Studios Florida takes guests on a hilarious and heart-warming ride with Gru and the Minions. The adventure can now continue for guests in these one-of-a-kind suites created to capture all the excitement and playfulness of Gru’s house.
There are missile-shaped beds, Minions rappelling from the ceiling – and more. Each of the hotel’s 18 kids suites will feature the new theme. The suites are available for reservations for stays beginning Oct. 1.
“This is the latest way we are integrating the theme park experience into our on-site hotels,” says Vince LaRuffa, vice president of Resort Sales and Marketing. “The popularity of the Despicable Me Minion Mayhem attraction at Universal Studios, along with this summer’s release of Despicable Me 2 on July 3, presents an ideal time for the Minions to take over our kids suites.”
On-site hotel guests receive a package of exclusive benefits, including Early Park Admission and free Universal Express Unlimited ride access which lets them skip the regular lines on most rides and attractions in Universal Studios and Universal’s Islands of Adventure. Guests can also save up to 30 percent when they stay three nights or more with the Stay More, Save More promotion.
