Wicked details revealed for Wizard of Oz precinct at Warner Bros. Movie World in Australia
The world’s first Wizard of Oz precinct is coming to Warner Bros. Movie World in 2024 with two new family-friendly rides.
Guests will literally follow the iconic Yellow Brick Road to the multi-million-dollar precinct, which features immersive thematic elements, projection mapping, sculptures, and facades.
“We are bringing the movies back to Movie World in this all-new precinct.” said Village Roadshow CEO Clark Kirby. “We are working closely with our partners at Warner Bros. Themed Entertainment to make this one of the most beautifully themed precincts in Australian theme parks.”
The Wizard of Oz precinct will also include two new rides: The Flight of the Wicked Witch suspended family coaster with a nearly 1,500-foot-long track reaching a height of 62 feet and a max speed of 42 mph and the Kansas Twister family boomerang racer, featuring two racing tracks of 738 and 722 feet long and reaching a height of 72 feet and a max speed of 36 mph. Both family-friendly coasters will have low height and age restrictions.
In addition, the Flight of the Wicked Witch will be World’s first Wizard of Oz-themed multi-type coaster and the Southern Hemisphere’s first multi-type coaster; the Kansas Twister will be World’s first Wizard of Oz-themed steel coaster and the Southern Hemisphere’s first racing roller coaster.

Themed Entertainment. “A first of its kind, The Wizard of Oz land will extend the storytelling and bring of one of the most iconic and beloved films to life in an amazing way. We are over the moon (or should we say rainbow) to be bringing Oz to guests of Movie World in 2024.”
