Disney finally sells the iconic ‘Hercules’ travel mug, Herculade
The “Hercules” film: iconic. The characters: incredibly memorable. The songs: top quality. But, what have we been missing from this film for years? That’s right, the Hercules travel mug. And now, this piece of movie memorabilia can be yours for $22.99, (before tax and shipping).
For a limited time, McDonald’s patrons could get a plastic cup remake. But that was in the ‘90s, and we have been waiting eagerly for its return ever since. Ticket sales, streaming rights, and ad placement do make movie studios money. But “Spaceballs” said it best: “Merchandising. Where the real money from the movie is made. Spaceballs-the T-shirt, Spaceballs-the Coloring Book, Spaceballs-the Lunch box, Spaceballs- the Breakfast Cereal, Spaceballs-the Flame Thrower.”
Hercules has gotten more love in recent years, as have many other ‘80s and ‘90s Disney films. In fact, the “Hercules” film has popped up in numerous new Disney nighttime spectaculars.
Epcot’s new nighttime spectacular, Harmonious, features “Go The Distance,” perhaps the most recognizable song from the “Hercules” film.
The scene with Hades, Pain, and Panic, and this cup seen above, can’t be forgotten. Whether with the travel mug, or the famous raging of Hades, this moment with the characters is movie history. And now, you can own a part of this film, and it comes with practical applications.
According to the shopDisney website, you’ll go the distance every time with this stoneware “Hercules” Travel Mug inspired by the cup in the animated film. Featuring ”Herculade” on one side and the hero’s face on the other, this mug is strengthened by a sculpted handle, plastic straw and press-on plastic lid.
That GIF above, that could be you and your new mug. Simply click here, and snag up a travel mug inspired by your favorite demi-god. (Well, at least your favorite demi-god until the new Percy Jackson Disney+ series comes out.) (We haven’t yet spotted the mug in Disney parks.) And, while you are at it, here is the link to watch “Hercules” on Disney+. You’re welcome.
