Disney is testing single rider for Rise of the Resistance
Starting today, Walt Disney World is testing single rider for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance opened in 2019 at Walt Disney World and remains one of the most popular attractions, requiring guests to wait in an often-long standby queue or pay around $20 per person for Individual Lightning Lane access (called Lightning Lane Single Pass starting July 24, 2024). But today, Disney began testing a single rider option.
The single rider entrance for Rise of the Resistance is located near the attraction’s exit (look for a cast member holding a sign). However, this may not be the best choice for first-time riders as we’ve seen reports that the single rider queue skips several important parts of the ride’s story line, including the pre-show with Rey’s message explaining the mission and the experience onboard the transport ship, which (like many things in Star Wars stories) doesn’t go exactly as planned. We’ve also been told the hallway used for single rider is not themed.
On the other hand, moving directly to the Star Destroyer hangar could definitely be a plus for frequent park visitors (or repeat rides after the full experience).
Single rider for Rise of the Resistance is currently available in Orlando only (available from park open to close). There have been no official announcements about whether the single-rider queue will be permanent, but as of right now, we’re told testing will be taking place this week and next week. We don’t know if single rider will also be tested at Disneyland in California.

As with all single-rider queues, groups will likely be separated, so be sure everyone in your party are okay with riding alone/with strangers (guests must be at least seven years old to use single rider).
