Disney Parks debuts new Droid Depot app for Star Wars Day

To celebrate May the 4th, AKA Star Wars Day, fans can bring Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge home with the new Droid Depot mobile app.

This app, available for free on the App Store and Google Play, brings your BB-series or R-series astromech droid from Droid Depot at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge to life at home.

Normally, the droids can interact with your surroundings in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, but through this app, they can interact with you at home! For those who haven’t been to Batuu to build their own droid, they can practice with a new virtual experience and create a digital astromech companion.

With the app, every Jedi, Resistance fighter and First Order supporter will be able to program their droids, customize them by name, see their profiles, and pilot them on virtual paths around the house activating sounds and maneuvers through the app.

You can even pick some of your favorite galactic tunes by DJ R3X and choreograph your droid to dance to them at home:

You can download the Droid Depot app now on the App Store and Google Play, and for a limited time, you can purchase pre-built versions of BB-8 and R2-D2 interactive remote control droids from shopDisney.
