Disney Springs’ DisneyQuest closing July 3 for NBA Experience
Over two years after the interactive attraction’s demise was first announced, Disney Springs’ DisneyQuest is finally closing on July 3 to make way for the NBA Experience.
A fixture of Disney Springs’ West Side since it was known as Downtown Disney, the DisneyQuest closing was first announced back in June 2015. The “indoor theme park” filled with arcade games and virtual reality experiences will welcome its last guests on July 2.
On July 3, DisneyQuest will begin its transformation into the NBA Experience, which Disney describes as a one-of-a-kind basketball-themed experience featuring hands-on activities that put guests of all ages right in the middle of NBA game action. There will be immersive NBA video productions and numerous interactive experiences, as well as a restaurant and a retail store.
Orlando’s previous NBA-themed tourist attraction, NBA City, was replaced at Universal Orlando CityWalk by the Toothsome Chocolate Emporium restaurant.
