UPDATE – 05/19/20: Disney Springs has released a list of locations that will be open on May 20, which you can check out here.

Following the guidance of government and health officials, a limited number of shopping and dining experiences that are owned by third-party operating partners will start to open during this initial period. The rest of Walt Disney World Resort will stay closed, including the theme parks and the resort hotels.

According to a post on the Disney Parks Blog from Matt Simon, vice president of Disney Springs, the shopping destination will start to reopen in a way that includes:

  • Enhanced safety measures, including increased cleaning procedures
  • Appropriate physical distancing
  • Requiring both cast members and guests to wear face coverings
  • Additional safety training for cast members with a focus on limited-contact guest services

During this initial re-opening phase, Disney Springs will limit capacity, parking, and its operating hours. Additional protocols and procedures may be announced closer to the actual opening date.

This news comes just a few days after Universal Orlando’s CityWalk appeared to be preparing for its own partial reopening.
