Disney Treasure cruise ship christening gala with New York views, Haunted Mansion drones

The Disney Treasure christening ceremony in New York featured drones in the shapes Disney characters to celebrate the new cruise ship.

The Disney Treasure was christened as the newest Disney Cruise Line ship in New York City on Nov. 19, 2024. Disney celebrated with a party and a one-time-only drone show at Pier Sixty (full video below).

The christening ceremony also featured remarks Disney Experiences Chairperson Josh D’Amaro and Disney CEO Bob Iger, as well as a performance by Jordin Sparks.

Drones at Disney Treasure New York City christening

An exclusive show at the new Disney cruise ship’s christening in New York featured drones in the shapes of familiar characters and objects representing some of the stories found onboard the Disney Treasure:

  • Madame Leota and Hitchhiking Ghosts from Haunted Mansion: Haunted Mansion Parlor is a lounge on the Disney Treasure
  • Dante the dog and a guitar from “Coco”: Passengers dine at Plaza de Coco, a dinner show experience
  • A stingray and ship from “Moana”: “The Tale of Moana” is one of the live stage productions on the ship
  • Genie from “Aladdin”: The ship’s Grand Atrium features a statue of Aladdin and Jasmine

Disney Treasure party at New York’s Pier Sixty

The Disney Treasure christening party featured appearances by Aladdin, Jasmine, Captain Mickey, and Captain Minnie, plus photo-ops representing some of the spaces from the ship: Haunted Mansion Parlor, Skipper Society (a lounge themed after Jungle Cruise), and Plaza de Coco.
