Disney, vocational nonprofit partner to bring holiday magic to Animal Kingdom

This year’s new holiday decorations at Disney’s Animal Kingdom have a special trait about them – they feature handmade snowflakes created by artisans from the Augusta Training Shop, a vocational nonprofit organization.

These snowflakes can be seen woven into garlands and wreaths lining the shops in Discovery Island. Augusta Training Shop, based in Augusta, Ga., employs adults with cognitive and physical disabilities and helps them to discover their talents and lead self-sufficient lives.

These artisans who made the snowflakes were recently invited to visit Walt Disney World to see their work on display:

Their hard work is now on display at Disney’s Animal Kingdom for thousands of guests to see and enjoy this holiday season.
