The showpiece event marks the “maiden voyage” of the upcoming fifth member of the Disney fleet in magical style, with an entire float inspired by the hugely imaginative design of the cruise line newcomer that officially sets sail in June, 2022.

The brilliantly creative float has been christened “Magic Meets the Sea,” and will additionally feature 15 favorite Disney friends representing the array of stories and experiences on the Wish, including Captain Minnie Mouse, who proudly adorns the ship’s bow.

Sharon Siskie, senior vice president and general manager for Disney Cruise Line, explained: “The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is a treasured tradition at the heart of family holiday celebrations. We are honored to collaborate with Macy’s for this renowned event and build upon the legacy of creating magical memories year after year.”

“Just like the Disney Wish,” Siskie continued, “our float will be a celebration of enchanting Disney story-telling, beloved characters, and wishes come true.”

Showcasing the grandeur of a classic Disney Cruise Line vessel, the new float will feature iconic design elements such as the Mickey Mouse-inspired color palette, two towering red funnels, and an intricate filigree motif along the hull.

Other characters aboard the float include Princess Tiana, who cooks up the power of imagination in an all-new interactive adventure on the ship; Aladdin and Jasmine, whose story has been reimagined into an original Broadway-style stage show in the ship’s Walt Disney Theatre; and Cinderella, whose beautiful bronze statue gracing the ship’s fairytale-inspired Grand Hall.

Macy’s is equally excited to be able to showcase Disney’s forthcoming cruise icon. Parade Producer Jordan Dabby revealed: “The entire Macy’s Parade team is thrilled to welcome Disney Cruise Line to this year’s outstanding lineup. This magical float will enchant an audience of millions in New York City, and nationwide on television with Disney’s signature brand of imagination and innovation.”

The announcement of the Parade showcase for the Disney Wish follows the opening of a new exhibit about the ship at Disney’s Hollywood Studios park in Walt Disney World Resort, where it is featured in the Walt Disney Presents attraction.

Disney Cruise Line also recently unveiled a fabulous range of new children’s attractions, clubs, and amenities aboard the new vessel, including a chance to interact with Star Wars characters.

The 95th Annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade will air nationally on NBC from 9:00 a.m.-noon in all time zones.
