The world of “The Princess and the Frog” will come to life in all-new ways aboard the Disney Wonder with revamped teen and adult spaces onboard the Disney Cruise Line vessel.
A New Orleans-themed lounge, called The French Quarter Lounge, will be a new compliment to Tiana’s Place Restaurant on the ship, both inspired by “The Princess and the Frog.” The lounge will be surrounded with architecture that evokes the feeling of an outdoor New Orleans space, like wrought-iron balconies, brick walls and shutter-framed windows. Decorative details inside will include a life-size trolley car and nods to the animated film.
Guests can enjoy live music on the gazebo stage in the lounge while sipping on specialty drinks and an updated bar. The French Quarter Lounge will be a natural first stop ahead of dinner at Tiana’s Place Restaurant. The fun will keep going all day long in the lounge with New Orleans-themed family activities, trivia, and character encounters. Princess Tiana herself might even make an appearance.
Vibe, a club for teens age 14-17, will transform into a contemporary place for friends to hang out while at sea. The space will get a new, timeless feel and a redesign featuring a light color palette and industrial metal work. A new coffee bar and virtual reality tech will be added to the list of activities that teens can enjoy at the club.
Adults will get their own updated space in the form of the Cove Café. The redesign will transform the café into a local coffee ship with warm and trendy décor. Adults can sip on specialty coffee or tea throughout the day, or take part in wine, cocktails and light bites at night. Adult beverage tastings will be available at select times for an extra fee. Signals Bar will also undergo a transformation with a similar new look.
These new enhancements to the Disney Wonder will make their debut on the ship’s four-night sailing from Vancouver to San Diego on Sept. 30, 2019.
