Disneyland Paris promotes glass recycling in Spain

To demonstrate that its commitment to sustainable waste management extends beyond its address in Marne-la-Vallée, France, Disneyland Paris has collaborated with Ecovidrio — a non-profit organization responsible for glass recycling in Spain — for a one-of-a-kind awareness-raising campaign.

“With this initiative, we want to bring the magic of recycling to the young, and not so young, members of the household,” said Ecovidrio Marketing Director Borja Martiarena. “At a time when consumption is on the rise during the summer, we must not forget that small gestures such as going to one’s green garbage can every day help a great deal in our fight against climate change.”

The Disneyland Paris recycling campaign — “Dreams matter more than ever… so does glass recycling!” — hopes to raise awareness of the importance of recycling in a fun way by positioning more than 120 glass recycling points representing popular Disney, Marvel, and Pixar characters in the streets of 17 major Spanish cities: Madrid, Bilbao, Malaga, La Coruna, Salamanca, Logrono, Gijon, Castellon, Huelva, Alicante, Tarragona, Gerona, Albacete, Murcia, Leon, Cordoba, and Almeria.

Disney’s commitment to the environment is a tradition in our company, which began with Walt Disney himself and which we continue every day,” said Laure Glatron, general manager of Disneyland Paris for Spain and Portugal. It is our duty as a leading entertainment company to inspire the entire community, especially children [and] we are very excited about this project across so many Spanish cities this summer.”
