Almost 35 years after Euro Disney and the French government began working together to develop Val d’Europe, this area has become one of the most compelling in the Ile-de-France region thanks to a unique and successful public-private partnership.
Val d’Europe is the eastmost part of the town of Marne-laVallée, just 22 miles east of Paris. The Walt Disney Company created the town, which is located about 5 minutes away from Disneyland Paris. The town is comprised of five communities: Bailly-Romainvilliers, Chessy, Coupvray, Mangy-le-Hongre, and Serris. There is also a Val d’Europe shopping mall, which has 190 shops and 30 restaurants across more than 1,000,000 square feet.
With about 540,000-square-meters of office and business space already developed, Val d’Europe is ready to enter a new phase of development, becoming an economic hub at the heart of northwest Europe by welcoming even more national and international companies in an attractive setting.
To that end, Val d’Europe Agglomération and the Real Estate Development by Euro Disney team are strengthening their partnership to deliver an innovative property and services offer that is adapted for a range of future needs to help companies and their employees as they set up in the area.
Under the banner of “Val d’Europe, Fields of Opportunities,” a new joint brand unveiled at the annual SIMI trade fair, the joint partners will work to increase the region’s attractiveness to companies and talented individuals looking to operate in a multicultural environment which combines economic growth with accessibility and a living environment balanced between culture, nature and the protection of the environment.
‘Val d’Europe, Fields of Opportunities,’ a common brand to promote Val d’Europe
In an increasingly competitive environment, promoting the area and its assets among target groups and accelerating its economic development have become more and more important. Val d’Europe Agglomération has therefore decided to work together with Real Estate Development by Euro Disney to promote the attractiveness of the area together under the new brand “Val d’Europe, Fields of Opportunities.”
This unique cooperation between a private-sector company and local government is centered around three key objectives: improving Val d’Europe’s image and visibility; fostering a collective dynamic by involving economic players; and retaining and winning new users. Val d’Europe and Real Estate Development by Euro Disney will work together with the economic networks in the Ile-de-France region, property managers and ambassadors for the area to jointly get their messages across loudly and clearly.
Val d’Europe meets all the conditions necessary for the development of a healthy living environment that is beneficial to all, including businesses, employees and residents.
This is what Val d’Europe’s elected officials have always wanted this exceptional area’s goal to be through urban planning and investment actions. Our desire to further develop this area over the next few decades and pursue economic, social and cultural development without affecting the close-knit community feel as part of a sustainable urbanization approach and in compliance with the climate-air-energy plan objectives is a challenge we face for future generations.
Our joint brand, “Val d’Europe, Fields of Opportunities,” highlights this goal.Philippe Descrouet, president of Val d’Europe Agglomération
Val d’Europe, “the most dynamic city in France for business development”
The town is home to 6,300 companies, according to the “Val d’Europe Economic Observatory 2021,” that have been setting up in the area since 2004, and almost 420,000-square-meters of modern office and business spaces have been developed over the same period, together with services designed to meet the needs of companies and their employees. Moreover, it has an average occupancy rate of 94%.
On average, four to five companies of all types and sizes set up shop in this area every week. The employment rate is 1.46 and the annual job creation rate is 3.9%. In 2019, the office vacancy rate was just 4.4%.
For example, Deloitte — the world’s leading consulting group — chose this district from among 88 other sites in Europe to build its training center for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, following an eight-year call for tenders.
Also present in the area are Henkel, Orange, Sanofi, AG2R — La Mondiale, and the recently-opened headquarters of Crédit Agricole Brie Picardie, which has also established its start-up accelerator network “Le Village by CA” on the theme of tourism economy, building the sustainable city and the agro-food industry.
Val d’Europe Agglomération welcomes Medic Global in 2023
Val d’Europe continues to expand its roster of businesses with the upcoming arrival of Medic Global, a leader in innovative multidisciplinary healthcare centers which bring together a wide variety of specialties such as doctors, dentists, pediatricians, osteopaths, physiotherapists, pharmacists, and opticians. The nearly 6,000-square-meter facility will be located in the heart of the city and developed in an iconic Art Deco style, soon serving as Medic Global’s sixth center in operation. The nationwide healthcare provider has an additional four centers under construction, five in the construction permit phase and seven new projects in progress.
With a rapid increase in new ways of working such as teleworking and coworking, Val d’Europe has shown the power of its tourism, economic and commercial capabilities.
The arrival of companies of all sizes, including major strategic businesses such as Deloitte and Crédit Agricole against a turbulent economic backdrop heralds a new role for this economic hub, making it the solution that reconciles various needs — for example, international outreach — with a real quality of life when working face-to-face, while providing flexible solutions for attractive property.
The public-private partnership, underscored by the new joint brand with Val d’Europe Agglomération, will show companies the tremendous opportunities offered to those joining us now and in the future.Christophe Giral, director of Real Estate Development by Euro Disney
