Disneyland Resort celebrates its 68th birthday on July 17
On July 17, 1955, Walt Disney opened the gates to his brand new theme park, and on July 17, 2023, Disneyland Resort will celebrate its 68th birthday.
This Monday at 11:45 a.m., Disneyland park guests will be able to see a celebratory cavalcade featuring Mickey Mouse and friends – making stops at “it’s a small world,” Main Street U.S.A., and Town Square – and join the Dapper Dans, the Disneyland Band, and Disney Ambassadors in singing “Happy Birthday” to Disneyland.
In addition, from July 15-17, Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe will serve a special Disneyland Anniversary vanilla iced donut filled with cherry compote and topped with whipped topping and chocolate sandwich cookie “Mickey ears.”
As Disneyland marks its 68th birthday this year, The Walt Disney Company is celebrating its 100th anniversary with the all-new nighttime spectacular “Wondrous Journeys” (through Aug. 31) and reimagined Mickey’s Toontown (featuring Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway) in Disneyland park and “Rogers: The Musical” (through Aug. 31) and “World of Color – ONE in Disney California Adventure park.
