Doctor Strange show closing at Disney California Adventure
“Doctor Strange: Mysteries of the Mystic Arts,” a show in Avengers Campus at California Adventure, will close after three years of performances.
“Doctor Strange: Mysteries of the Mystic Arts” Closing
The show’s final day of operations will be June 30, 2024, according to the Orange County Register, which received the information from Disneyland Resort. As the OC Register points out, and as the Disneyland website displays, Disney has not published showtimes for “Mysteries of the Mystic Arts” beyond June 22, 2024, despite other productions’ showtimes listed for the following week.
“Doctor Strange: Mysteries of the Mystic Arts” was an opening-day fixture of Avengers Campus, a land which debuted in 2021 at Disney California Adventure Park on real estate formerly occupied by A Bug’s Land.
“Mysteries of the Mystic Arts” performs in a venue called the Ancient Sanctum. Disney describes the backstory of the Ancient Sanctum this way:
For as long as anyone can remember, rumors of unexplained events and energies have emanated from a remote location in the hills outside Los Angeles.
In the late 1940s, a Stark Industries complex was built on the location. Decades later, Tony Stark invited Doctor Strange to the Avengers Campus to enlighten recruits about the mystic arts. Doctor Strange suspended the area’s cloaking spells and revealed the Sanctum to the world.

Disneyland Resort
The OC Register did not mention Disney’s future plans for the Ancient Sanctum; just that the “Mysteries of the Mystic Arts” show specifically will close. Disney uses the space for Agatha’s character sighting during Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party.
