Dollywood celebrates the holidays with Smoky Mountain Christmas

From Nov. 7 – Jan. 3, Dollywood is celebrating the holiday season with five million Christmas lights and both familiar and new experiences around the park during Smoky Mountain Christmas. New area-based theme and lighting designs and more Christmas trees than ever before have adorned the park.

A new Christmas fireworks display, “Merry & Bright!,” will light up evenings at the park during the “Dolly-days.” More information about showtimes can be found online.

Christmas in the Smokies is another fan favorite tradition at the park for 30 years, and will continue this year at DP’s Celebrity Theater. Returning favorite “Christmas with the Kingdom Heirs” is taking place at the Pines Theater.

“Heart of the Holidays,” a new show, will feature members of Parton’s family singing songs from her new Christmas album, “A Holly Dolly Christmas,” in the DreamSong Theater. More than 40 holiday performances are scheduled to take place each operating day during Smoky Mountain Christmas.

Glacier Ridge will brings an arctic experience to Timber Canyon, Wildwood Grove, Wilderness Pass and Upper Craftsman’s Valley, as well as present the “Wonderful Christmas!” tree show which brings a 50-foot-tall tree to life with a sparkling light show throughout the evening. Wildwood Grove’s Wildwood Tree will tell inspirational Christmas stories as guests explore the area.

Of course, no holiday is complete without old Saint Nick. Santa can be seen in a safe, social distanced way at his cabin as he checks his list twice, and young guests can take a glance over and make sure they’re not on his naughty list!

Holiday treats are also on the list of this magical holiday event, with the new Blue Ribbon Buffet serving up all-you-can eat southern comfort food. Market Square’s quick-service options offer a variety of delicious sandwiches and soups. Special Christmas treats like s’mores bread pudding and hot chocolate will be available as well. Market Square isn’t the only place to find seasonal sweet treats; holiday cookies, gingerbread and cupcakes are available at Spotlight Bakery.
