After over 34 years of fun as a children’s roller coaster, the Bob bobsleigh run will make way for a new roller coaster for kids ages 4-10, called “Max & Moritz.”

Max & Moritz will be a dual-tracked roller coaster based on a well-known German poem about two naughty boys of the same name. This coaster will be family-friendly, with a minimum height requirement of about 39 inches.

The future Max & Moritz attraction will be located where the Bob’s attraction currently stands.

The Bob’s current Swiss theming, as well as the station building, will be kept for the new attraction. The track construction kicked off this past September, with the entire project expected to cost about $17.3 million.

With this announcement, the opening of another attraction in a soon-to-be-expanded area to the east of the park will be postponed until 2021. This new attraction will be part of a new themed area in Reizenrijk, the Travel Realm area of the park, alongside a few smaller attractions.
