Eiffel Tower sparkles with projection mapping, lasers, and Céline Dion for Olympics
The Eiffel Tower was the canvas for projection mapping and other high-tech artistry during the Paris 2024 Olympics’ opening ceremonies.

Eiffel Tower light show ignites the Olympics
The opening ceremonies for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games on July 26 featured a symphonic spectacle of spotlights, lasers, and projection mapping as the Eiffel Tower became the star of the show.

Just like what happens each night upon Cinderella Castle at Walt Disney World, projectors casted an image of the Eiffel Tower onto the Tower itself — in essence creating the appearance of a malleable structure that could move and illuminate in ways the Tower’s iron beams would never be able to.

Lasers and a custom spotlight package (again recalling “Happily Ever After” ever so slightly) made for a visually colossal (and one-time-only) production. Quick glimpses of rainfall intersecting with the path of the roaming spotlights added another layer of accentuation to the proceedings.

Céline Dion closes out the Olympics opening ceremonies
Following the lighting of the Olympic Cauldron, focus turned back to the Eiffel Tower, upon which Grammy-winner Céline Dion stood to perform “Hymne A L’Amour.”

We’ll leave you with this: a mixtape of sorts comprised of Dion’s discography within the worlds of Disney.
