Emeril’s Tchoup Chop, located downstairs at Universal Orlando’s Royal Pacific Resort, has started offering a new Sunset Menu. From 5 to 6 p.m. only, you can get a three course meal for $35.

Emeril’s invited us out to try the new offering. Yes, eating between 5 and 6 p.m. may be early to some, but that’s why they’re making this special offer. A lot of their customers have been visiting theme parks or attending meetings at the hotel, so they don’t arrive until later. So you can take advantage of being able to be there early with this special offer.

Thirty-five dollars is by no means a cheap meal, but for the amount and quality of the food, it’s a good deal. There are two choices with each course. So we suggest you visit with a friend and get one of each. That way, you get to try everything. But in case you are dining alone, or just don’t like to share, here are your options:

Emerald Tchoup Chop shrimp chips Bonus! Before your food arrives, you’ll be served these unique and delicious Shrimp Chimps. They’re made from dehydrated shrimp and are served with a coconut peanut sauce. Think of these as shrimp rinds instead of pork rinds.

Tchoup Chop starters The starter choices are, from left, Kalua Chicken Eggrolls with Orange Chili Dipping Sauce, or a Kale “Caesar”, which includes Baby Loom Tomatoes, Truffle Popcorn Parmesan and Chili Lime Anchovy Dressing.

Emerald Tchoup Chop food For your main course, you get a choice of Hibachi Skirt Steak with Okinawa Purple Smashed Potatoes, Wild Mushroom ‘Poke’ and Asian Chimichurri Sauce, or you can order the Hawaiian Style Local Mahi Mahi with Gai Lan (Chinese Broccoli), Mushrooms, Ginger Cilantro and Sesame Soy.

Emerald Tchoup Chop dessertOf course, the best is last. Choose between Homemade Tropical Sorbet of various flavors, bottom, or Chocolate Lava Cake with Vanilla Ice Cream, Salted Toffee Rum and Caramel Popcorn.

After all that delicious food, you’re sure to be full, and you may even have some leftovers, especially if you’re splitting the whole menu with someone.

Look for other specials too. They have a happy hour menu at the bar only from 5 to 8 p.m. and they day we were there, they were also offering a free appetizer or dessert with the purchase of a meal when you show your theme park ticket.

Drinks and gratuity aren’t included in the Sunset special. Reservations are recommend but not needed. Be sure to ask to have your parking validated if you drive to the resort.
