Enchanting Extras Collection tours return to Walt Disney World in 2022

The 50th anniversary celebration at Walt Disney World Resort is already providing many exciting reasons to visit “The Most Magical Place on Earth,” and now there are even more with the return of several fan-favorite tours from the resort’s Enchanting Extras Collection beginning Feb. 6, 2022.

“Guests can now book a number of tours as we continue our phased approach to bring back these world-class offerings and experiences,” writes Walt Disney World Resort Communications Manager Aaron Wockenfuss in the Disney Parks Blog. “For those with a love of animals, adventure, and the outdoors — and those seeking to discover how Walt Disney’s vision, innovation, and creativity brought Magic Kingdom Park to life — things are about to get a lot more exciting.”

Theme park reservations and theme park admission is required for all Enchanting Extras Collection tours (admission not included in tour price).

The following Enchanted Extra Collection tours are returning to Walt Disney World Resort in 2022:

Disney’s Keys to the Kingdom at Magic Kingdom

The five-hour outdoor Keys to the Kingdom walking tour takes guests “behind the magic” to find out how Walt Disney’s vision, innovation, and creativity brought the Magic Kingdom to life. Guests will also learn little-known facts, discover hidden Mickeys and other often-overlooked details, uncover hidden secrets of classic attractions, and access the famous underground “Utilidor” tunnels beneath the park. Plus, tour guests will enjoy a delicious lunch and take home an exclusive keepsake.

Know Before You Go:

  • The Keys to the Kingdom tour is $114 per person (tax not included) — Annual Passholders and Disney Vacation Club Members qualify for a 15% discount.
  • Guests must be 16 years of age or older and have a valid photo I.D.
  • No cameras, video equipment, or mobile phones can be used throughout the tour.

Caring for Giants at Disney’s Animal Kingdom

During this 60-minute guided outdoor experience, guests learn about Animal Kingdom’s resident African elephant herd, including details about their day-to-day care and stories about Disney’s conservation efforts to preserve wild populations throughout the world. Guests can also observe the park’s largest inhabitants from approximately 80 to 100 feet away at a private, backstage viewing area — a closer encounter than during other in-park experiences.

Know Before You Go:

  • The Caring for Giants tour is $35 per person (tax not included)
  • Guests must be 4 years of age or older to participate (Guests under 18 must be accompanied by a participating adult)
  • Guests must walk by themselves or be assisted by a member(s) of their party in a courtesy wheelchair to participate in this experience. Non-transferrable wheelchair guests may remain in their wheelchair throughout this experience; however, all accommodation requests should be confirmed due to limited capacity on transport vehicles.
  • No cameras, video equipment, or cell phones may be used backstage. However, photography is allowed and encouraged in non-backstage areas

Up Close with Rhinos at Disney’s Animal Kingdom

During this 60-minute guided outdoor adventure, guests are taken backstage to meet Earth’s second-largest land animal — the white rhinos who call Disney’s Animal Kingdom home. Guides will also offer fascinating insights into the species’ behavior and biology and discuss the challenges that threaten populations in the wild.

  • The Up Close With Rhinos tour is $45 per person (tax not included)
  • Guests must be 4 years of age or older to participate (guests under 18 years must be accompanied by a participating adult).
  • Guests must walk by themselves or be assisted by a member(s) of their party in a courtesy wheelchair to participate in this experience. Non-transferrable wheelchair guests may remain in their wheelchair throughout this experience; however, all accommodation requests should be confirmed due to limited capacity on transport vehicles.
  • No cameras, video equipment, or cell phones may be used while participating in this tour.

Savor the Savanna at Disney’s Animal Kingdom

This premium outdoor tour explores Africa’s sights, sounds, and tastes, beginning with a journey to a private viewing area in the heart of the Harambe Wildlife Reserve, where guides share information about the wildlife and the special care they receive at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. While they enjoy the savanna scenery, guests are invited to sample African-inspired cuisine paired with a selection of regional beer and wine.

Know Before You Go:

  • The Savor the Savanna tour price is $174 per person (tax not included).
  • Guests must be at least 8 years of age to participate in this experience (guests under 18 must be accompanied by a participating adult).
  • Guests must be at least 21 years of age or older (with valid I.D.) to consume alcoholic beverages.
  • This experience requires Guests in ECVs to transfer into an available wheelchair to participate.

Wild Africa Trek at Disney’s Animal Kingdom

As they walk along a grassland path, cross a swinging rope bridge, and ride in a rugged safari vehicle over an open savanna, guests have the unique opportunity to view giraffes, rhinos, hippos, and crocodiles in the Safi River Valley — a natural environment that resembles their home in Africa. During the three-hour privately guided outdoor tour, guests not only learn about the animals they’re viewing but also about the park’s dedication to animal conservation.

This amazing experience also includes complimentary photo service and African-inspired snacks like chicken curry salad, sun-dried tomato hummus with mini pita, marinated tandoori shrimp, and fresh fruit marinated in mint and ginger.

Know Before You Go:

  • The Wild Africa Trek is $199 per person (tax not included).
  • Participants must be 8 years of age or older and at least 48 inches tall (guests under 18 must be accompanied by a participating adult).
  • Participants must be between 45 and 300 pounds with the safety harness gear.
  • Guests must have physical stamina, comfort with heights, and the ability to negotiate small hills, foliage, and unsteady rope bridges to participate.
  • Closed-toe shoes with a back strap or hiking boots are required. No flip-flops will be allowed. Skirts or dresses are not recommended.
