Epcot parking lot section names now feature characters

Previously named after words like “Imagine” and “Discover,” starting this week, Epcot parking lot signs will feature names of Disney, Pixar, and Marvel characters.

Epcot parking lot cast members and Imagineers pose with a new Moana sign.

The entire Epcot parking lot is being divided into two main themes: the “Earth” side and the “Space” side. Each side will have four divisions with Earth featuring Moana and Heihei from “Moana” and Crush and Dory from “Finding Nemo” and Space with WALL-E and Eve from “WALL-E” and Rocket and Gamora from the “Guardians of the Galaxy” films.

The signs are a small part of the larger transformation going on at Epcot, specifically in and around the entrance to the park. Disney also announced an updated marquee will be coming later this month to the auto plaza where guests first enter the Epcot parking lot.

“Epcot has long celebrated art, murals, and mosaics, and these character graphics greet guests of all ages to the park in creative and memorable ways,” said Chelsea Eagle, senior communications manager at Walt Disney World Resort. “Savvy Epcot fans may recognize the unique and beautiful designs — the art style used in these character graphics is the same as the Epcot posters illustrating past, present, and future attractions.”
