Epic Universe TV special airing August 2025: ‘Inside the Worlds of Epic Universe’
“Inside the Worlds of Epic Universe,” a one-hour TV special, will air Aug. 20 at 9 p.m. ET on NBC and stream beginning Aug. 21 on Peacock.
The special will go behind the scenes of Universal Orlando’s new theme park, which opened in May 2025. As indicated in the special’s title, all five worlds of Epic Universe will be featured: Celestial Park, Super Nintendo World, Dark Universe, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic, and How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk.
NBC announced the news on July 29.

“Inside the Worlds of Epic Universe” is different from “Epic Ride: The Story of Universal Theme Parks,” a three-episode Epic Universe docuseries streaming later in 2025 on Peacock.
The “Inside the Worlds of Epic Universe” TV special will be hosted by Joe Manganiello and feature appearances by:
- Jon M. Chu, director of the “Wicked” films
- Warwick Davis, actor from “Harry Potter” films
- Vin Diesel, star of “Fast & Furious” films
- Bryce Dallas Howard, actor/director and star of “Jurassic World” trilogy
- Nico Parker, actor of “How to Train Your Dragon” live-action films
- Matt Rogers, Prince of Celestial Park
- Steven Spielberg, film director and consultant to Universal Creative
- Mason Thames, star of “How to Train Your Dragon” live-action films
- Bowen Yang, actor from “Wicked” films and Prince of Celestial Park
- Michelle Yeoh, actor from “Wicked” films
Spielberg’s appearance will involve “an extended interview offering insight into the creativity and artistry that makes the park truly revolutionary.”
