Fast & Furious roller coaster coming to Universal Studios Hollywood

Construction has begun on Universal Studios Hollywood’s latest roller coaster, themed to Universal Pictures’ Fast & Furious franchise.

Universal says they will bring innovative and technological achievements never previously employed to this all-new thrill ride. The Animal Actors and Special Effects show stages closed in January to make room for the Fast & Furious coaster. They are currently being demolished.

A Universal press release stated the ride will be “equipped with a state-of-the-art ride system uniquely created to engulf guests within the dynamic Fast & Furious universe.”

For more than 20 years, the Fast & Furious franchise has earned more than $7 billion at the worldwide box office, Universal Pictures’ record-smashing, homegrown Fast & Furious films have become the studio’s most-profitable and longest-running franchise.

Rumors say the Fast & Furious coaster may even run down the hill next to the escalators. Stay tuned for updates.
